Lukashenko arrives at Kremlin for CIS summit

MOSCOW, 8 October (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived at the Kremlin to take part in the CIS Heads of State Council meeting, BelTA has learned.

The head of state arrived in Moscow the day before. Ahead of the official events, he attended an informal meeting of CIS leaders on the evening of 7 October.

The agenda of the summit is extensive. The leaders of the CIS member states are set to discuss issues related to security, high technology, and cooperation in trade, economy, culture and humanitarian affairs.

Aleksandr Lukashenko will deliver a report to expand on the CIS address to the peoples of the CIS and the world community in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In fact, of all the former Soviet republics Belarus suffered the worst during the Great Patriotic War.
