BAKU, 16 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are having a meeting in the Zagulba Presidential Palace, BelTA has learned.
In line with the protocol, the negotiations are preceded by ceremonial events involving an honor guard company and the performance of the national anthems. Members of the delegations also participate in the ceremony. Another mandatory tradition is the photo-opp of the two leaders.
The Zagulba Presidential Palace is part of Azerbaijani president’s new residence built in 2008. The palace is located in the village of Zagulba, 40 km from Baku. In Soviet times, the village used to be a popular getaway for local government officials.
The palace is located on the Caspian Sea; its architecture embraces modern trends and the Azerbaijani traditional style. Here the president of Azerbaijan holds official meetings and negotiations.
