MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to counter any attempts to subjugate it to foreign will, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on 28 October, BelTA has learned.
The head of state emphasized that security cannot be built on threats and ultimatums. “This is a dead end. Without trust, cooperation, and justice, any security system is an inherently fragile construct,” he stated.
For Belarus, security is a paramount concern, as the country is not merely an observer but a direct participant in the geopolitical processes at the very heart of Europe.
Aleksandr Lukashenko underscored that Belarus has no interest in confrontation, characterizing its ongoing appeals for dialogue as a bid to reintroduce common sense into an international arena where power is seeking to supersede it.
“The salvation of Eurasia lies solely in the rejection of confrontation,” the head of state asserted. “The continent’s fundamental value is its interdependence; therefore, it cannot be perpetually and without consequence fractured into rival blocs.” The president identified the vision of peaceful, joint development as the paramount strategic guideline. This principle is the cornerstone of powerful multilateral structures such as the SCO, BRICS, the EAEU, and the CIS.
