VITEBSK, 2 September (BelTA) – I am a supporter of sincere politics, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with students in Vitebsk on 2 September, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was asked how to distinguish truth from lies in the modern world politics.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that there were a lot of lies or certain hushing-up in politics. The Belarusian leader, however, does his best to stay as sincere as possible in his statements. “I am a supporter of sincere politics. Excuse my lack of modesty, but there are practically no politicians like that,” he emphasized.
At the same time, he admitted that in some situations certain sincerely spoken statements are unlikely to bring benefit.
According to the president, it is sometimes almost impossible to distinguish truth from lies in politics unless you are well aware of the matter. “Sometimes it is better not to look for lies and truth in politics. Everything is so intertwined there sometimes,” he noted.
