MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman adopted a joint statement following the talks in Minsk on 6 October, BelTA has learned.
The document notes that the talks were held in an atmosphere of trust, friendship, and mutual understanding. The parties affirmed the commitment to working jointly to strengthen and developing Belarusian-Omani cooperation and exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The leaders reviewed the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the highest- and high-level mutual visits in 2024-2025, covering the areas of food security, agriculture, industry, logistics, healthcare, tourism, and culture.
The heads of state positively assessed the efforts to increase bilateral trade, expand the supply of Belarusian food products, industrial equipment, pharmaceuticals, veterinary drugs, and other goods to the Sultanate of Oman, and Omani products of interest to Belarus.
The leaders welcomed mutual efforts to implement joint projects to manufacture baby food and dairy products and assemble machinery in Oman. The heads of state agreed that the joint industrial cooperation projects currently under development will have a positive impact on bilateral economic relations, taking into account Oman's logistical potential and the advantages of its modernizing infrastructure," the joint statement said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said confirmed their readiness to expand investment cooperation in agriculture, the IT sector, and the furniture and pulp and paper industries. The heads of state noted with satisfaction the signing of an agreement in May 2025 to set up a joint cooperation and investment committee and expressed interest in launching its work in the near future to coordinate the joint actions of Belarusian and Omani parties in implementing bilateral agreements.

In the joint statement, the president of Belarus and the Sultan of Oman emphasized the importance of the program of direct charter flights on the Minsk-Salalah-Minsk route, launched in February 2025. The leaders expressed the determination of both countries to work together to increase the mutual flow of tourists.
“The heads of state highlighted the development of cooperation in education and culture, aimed at deepening bilateral ties and bringing the peoples of the two states closer. The leaders stressed the significance of establishing and developing direct contacts between business communities, mutual participation in exhibitions and fairs, holding national exhibitions in the Republic of Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman, and human and cultural exchange. In this regard, they welcomed the signing of a visa-waiver agreement,” the joint statement reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Haitham bin Tarik Al Said noted the importance of creating a solid legal framework for the further development of Belarusian-Omani relations in all sectors and also welcomed the signing of bilateral documents during the visit. The leaders agreed that their governments and authorized ministries and organizations would develop and implement the necessary programs and plans of practical action in accordance with the goals and principles of the joint statement.
The heads of state confirmed a shared approach to key global and regional problems. They emphasized the necessity of adhering to the UN Charter and the norms of international law, expressed their readiness for close cooperation within international organizations, and pledged joint efforts to form a multipolar, just, and equitable international political and economic order. The parties also condemned the application of unilateral coercive measures and sanctions.
The Sultan of Oman expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality and invited the president of Belarus to visit Oman.
