Lack of discipline seen as main reason for weak agricultural performance

POSTAVY, 5 August (BelTA) - The problem of weak farms is the lack of discipline, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he hosted a meeting on the operation of agro-industrial associations in Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

"Weak farms lack discipline. This is the reason why they are struggling. Therefore, I warn you publicly for the whole country to hear not to complain about the toughness of the decisions made. This applies to managers, specialists and machine operators. Do not go anywhere to complain about the toughness of the decisions made by the management of enterprises. I urge the governors present, members of the government and those in charge to apply the strictest control. Managers are granted all rights and opportunities. Therefore they will be held responsible first of all," the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that there are all conditions for farms to work effectively. It is just one thing missing: discipline and responsibility of some workers.
