MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) - Kazakhstan is an important, time-tested friend, strategic partner and ally for Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received credentials from ambassadors at the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 1 October, BelTA has learned.
The two countries have common interests in virtually every area, the head of state said. According to the president, the annual $1 billion trade and successful industrial cooperation projects testify to the high level of interaction.
Aleksandr Lukashenko once again expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev for the support provided to Belarus during Kazakhstan's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
