Higher pensions in Belarus from 1 August

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) - Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed the decree “On raising pensions”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Pensions will be recalculated and increased by an average of 6.6% on 1 August 2019. The increase will be financed by the state non-budgetary fund of social protection of the population. On average the pensions will increase from Br405.05 in July to Br431.8 in August. The old-age pension will average Br446.1

Additional expenditures of the fund will constitute Br66.2 million per month (Br331 million by the end of 2019). All in all, Br12.544 billion will be earmarked om pensions in 2019.

It is expected that thanks to another increase in 2019, the 40% ratio of the average old-age pension to the average wage will be finally achieved.
