MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Natalya Eismont, Press Secretary of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, made a few comments in response to the Polish president's recent statements about the diplomatic efforts he had exercised for the sake of release of three representatives of the unregistered organization Union of Poles of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
The press secretary said: “There are indeed substantial blank spots in this story, this is why it is necessary to lift the veil. Including in order to prevent some people from claiming efforts of others as their own. Do you remember the Belarus president's conversation with the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev? It was in mid-April. The release of some figures of the Belarusian Union of Poles was discussed back then. And it was Nursultan Nazarbayev, who pleaded for them. This decision was made after that. But the Belarus president has never discussed this matter with anyone in Polish.”
