BREST OBLAST, 21 October (BelTA) – Combat capabilities of weapons, military and special hardware were demonstrated to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko in the combined-arms military training area Obuz-Lesnovsky in Brest Oblast, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko went to an observation post and watched how unmanned aerial vehicles can be used in combat. Drone countermeasures and a multilevel automated system for commanding a battalion tactical group were also demonstrated in action.
The president mentioned he intended to have a look at Belarusian drones and accomplishments of Belarusian scientists and designers in this field when he met with Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov on 18 October. Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Our drones are a very relevant topic and we will talk about it on Friday, too. How do you compete in this area with applied science and enterprises as you create new unmanned aerial vehicles? They are very relevant considering the lessons of the war in Ukraine.”
