CIS called to unite efforts to protect interests on world market

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The CIS countries need to unite efforts to protect their interests on the world market, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at an online meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

“In order to strengthen the role of the CIS, I consider it necessary to take further real steps to unite efforts for the joint protection of interests on the world market,” the Belarusian leader said.

According to the president, the CIS countries need to intensify mutual trade and investment and minimize artificial barriers. “Only through joint efforts and enhanced role of the CIS as a regional player, we will be able to successfully cope with all the challenges and threats,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

According to the president, Belarus, and not only Belarus, has faced an unprecedented pressure of sanctions this year. “Every year, due to impunity and the notorious law of force, the measures applied to our countries are getting broader and not so harmless for our national economies,” said the head of state.
