MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - The EAEU countries need to put aside the destructive agenda and follow the path of integration, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit in Minsk on 27 June, BelTA has learned.
Opening the meeting, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the opportunity to discuss any, even the most complicated, issues openly and, most importantly, in a friendly and calm atmosphere is a real luxury in the modern world. Belarus cherishes this opportunity.
“The growing geopolitical tensions and fragmentation of the global economy strikes a discordant note with the demand of the global majority. We must try to put aside the destructive agenda imposed by the ‘Golden Billion’ (although it is no longer gold),” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the president, it is necessary to increase the competitiveness of economies, develop industry, achieve technological sovereignty, ensure food security, create conditions for a peaceful and comfortable life of our peoples.
“The Union has successfully passed the stage of formation and demonstrates a good pace of development. Last year, the GDP of our association grew by almost 4.5% exceeding $2.5 trillion. Industry expanded by 4.5%, capital investment - 7.5%. This is a good result. May God keep it at this level,” the head of state said.
