Call on CIS countries to team up against cybercrime

MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko called on the CIS countries to cooperate against cybercrime as he met with the participants of the CIS Internal Affairs Ministers Council in Minsk on 8 August, BelTA has learned.

The fight against cybercrime, according to the head of state, is also one of the key and very difficult tasks for law enforcement of the CIS countries. It is relevant for all countries. After all, after the start of the special military operation, scam call centers have become more active, including those on the territory of Ukraine, the president stated. "From there they attack us and you," he said.

The number of attempts to destabilize the work of government agencies through deliberately false bomb threats to the most important state facilities has also increased. There are more scams against ordinary citizens. "Especially this year. We are trying to reverse the situation with cybercrime and, according to the reports  I see that we are succeeding," the president said. “Belarus is a disciplined country. People heed our advice to be vigilant. Especially the elderly. We ask them to be mindful of all kinds of scams via phones, iPhones, and so on."

There are also similar problems in the CIS countries, therefore, according to the president, the experience of combating such crime will be of interest to everyone.
