Call for getting rid of protective measures, restrictions in Belarus-Russia relations

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia should get rid of the lingering protective measures and restrictions once and for all. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement for reporters after negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Minsk on 24 May, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “There are no unresolvable problems in relations between our countries. There are delayed problems that require a closer look and a more profound approach. We have to honestly admit that as of today we have fixed all the issues and there are no unresolved issues today. I am convinced that we will work in the same manner in the future as well. In this context we discussed matters concerning the formation of the unified industrial policy within the framework of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia] today. Essentially we should get rid of the lingering protective measures and restrictions once and for all. Otherwise, not only our nations but we will not be able to understand each other.”
