MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed an executive order to approve a resolution on the financing of the presidential special fund for the social support of talented students in 2021 in the amount of Br1.1 million from the reserve fund of the president of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The executive order also approved the resolution of the council of the fund to reward 309 students.
Scholarships of the president of the Republic of Belarus have been awarded to 187 students and cadets of higher education institutions.
Monetary allowances, incentive scholarships and lapel badges of the laureate of fund have been awarded to 64 winners of the 17th International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science; the International Student Contest of Environmental Projects (2020), the International Student Olympiad in Computer Science and Software Development (2020).
Monetary allowances have been awarded to 58 winners of the International Student Olympiad Electrotechnics 2020, the 8th International Power Industry Olympiad (2020), the national professional training contest for students.
The executive order of the president of the Republic of Belarus aims to ensure the targeted state support of talented students, creation of favorable conditions for the further development of their skills and academic excellence.
