MIKASHEVICHI, 5 October (BelTA) – The problem of thousands of Belarusians, who are unwilling to work, needs to be resolved. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a solemn ceremony held as part of the Dazhynki 2024 harvest festival in Mikashevichi to honor agrarians, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Times are very complicated. I address you with one very big request, a great task that we need to accomplish together. All of us are hard workers. Nobody needs to encourage us to work. But let’s speak honestly: is everyone in Belarus like that? No. Thousands upon thousands do nothing. Certainly, on my part I will do everything to make them work. To make them do not only peasant’s work. But you should help me with it. After all, we are hardworking people. Belarusians have always been hard workers. It is not good when millions of people work hard while thousands stay idle. We need to resolve this problem.”
He assured that the government will continue supporting working people. The housing construction program is being redirected to take care of needs of the manufacturing sector. “We will build houses, social facilities, and housing primarily where we create manufacturing facilities, in agriculture,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
The president stressed that all Belarusians need a place to live. “We will do it. With your assistance,” the head of state is convinced.
Aleksandr Lukashenko also wished good health to hard workers and their kids. He encouraged them to hold on to their roots.
