KORMA, 12 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko called upon Belarusians to restore storm-hit forests together as he addressed a ceremony honoring the farmers during Dazhynki 2024 harvest festival in the town of Korma, Gomel Oblast on 12 October.
“Life does not give us a chance to rest on our laurels. Just remember the recent July storms. Gomel Oblast was hit the hardest. The forests were badly damaged, too. They need to be restored. Yesterday I put forward an idea to do it together,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Forests mean life, the president stressed. “Let’s launch the relevant campaign and plant new trees in the storm-affected areas. Let’s do it together, as Belarusians have always done in their country,” the head of state said.
