MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has instructed new head of the State Committee on Science and Technology Sergei Shlychkov to improve the performance of the organization and the sector in general, BelTA has learned.
“You are aware of the main drawbacks of the State Committee on Science and Technology. We devise programs, allocate funds. We may have been developing something, but I do not see great results. Your main task is to demonstrate results and to show that the money is well spent,” the president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko added that Sergei Shlychkov is well familiar with the sector he is going to lead and to develop a certain system there. “You, together with your colleagues, need to decide on your future team and your future activities - those state programs that need to be supported. We will finance them. You will be responsible for the results,” said the president.
