MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – In many aspects the Union State of Belarus and Russia can be an example for other integration structures. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the plenary session of the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
“Twenty years ago we started implementing this integration project aimed at ensuring effective economic and social development of our countries,” noted the head of state. “Without an exaggeration one can say that as far as the social and humanitarian sphere is concerned, we have already secured a level of development that is on par and in many aspects can serve as an example for other supranational integration structures.”
Alexander Lukashenko said it is important that results of the Union State project are visible and understandable not only for politicians but the general public. He said he was confident that the constructive and fruitful work for the benefit of the two nations and states will continue.
The Belarus President was also confident that the forum represents a significant stage in tackling common tasks.
