MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent Chinese Spring Festival greetings to Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Ming, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"In 2023, the family of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization got a new member, which is another evidence of growing trust and good neighborliness between the countries," the message of greetings said. “Thanks to your rich experience and high professionalism, the Organization is becoming an increasingly authoritative international association designed to turn challenges into opportunities, to contribute to peace and prosperity of the peoples of the SCO."
The SCO Secretariat headed by Zhang Ming is rightfully recognized as an effective coordinator of multifaceted cooperation, primarily in promoting trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the president stated.
"Belarus is fully committed to engaging in various formats of cooperation in SCO in the new status," the head of state stressed. He expressed gratitude to the SCO secretary general for his unwavering support in the process of Belarus' accession to the SCO as a full member.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Zhang Ming good health, success in his responsible work, harmony and prosperity.
