MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed Aleksandr Lomsky Aide to the President of the Republic of Belarus - Inspector for Brest Oblast on 30 June, BelTA has learned.
Until now, Aleksandr Lomsky served as First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister. The position of the aide to the President - inspector for Brest Oblast became vacant in May this year after Valery Vakulchik was appointed Head of the Council of Ministers Office.
“As for the aide to the president - inspector for Brest Oblast, there were various candidates. I insisted that it should be someone from the agricultural sector. Because as you know, the governor [of Brest Oblast, Piotr Parkhomchik] is an industrialist. He is a seasoned professional. But he needs support. Not only his deputy, but also the aide should be well-versed in agriculture. This is why, Aleksandr Zinovievich [Lomsky], we chose you. I believe you will handle this job well. These are times when we simply cannot afford to stand idle,” the head of state said.
