MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – There are plans to harvest about 10 million tonnes of grain this year, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a large meeting to discuss progress in the harvest campaign on 26 July, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of state, the country is looking to a good harvest this year: “According to experts, the gross grain harvest is expected at about 10 million tonnes. This includes rapeseed, corn, and colza”.
“The countryside has been provided with all kinds of assistance: fuel, equipment, finances. Therefore, everyone, from a manager to a machine operator, should put in their best effort. Otherwise, there will be losses. This is unacceptable. Losses can be compared to fertilizing soil with money. The main two requirements for harvesting are quality and pace. Discipline and responsibility must be at the highest level,” Aleksandr Lukashenko demanded.
