MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) - The U.S. needs to negotiate rare earth metals with Russia, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with U.S. blogger Mario Nawfal, BelTA learned.
The head of state stressed that the Russian leadership is interested in good, friendly relations with the United States of America and that both Russia and the USA will benefit a lot from this.

“Take, for example, the current situation between the United States and Ukraine regarding rare earth minerals. Look, Russia ranks second in the world for these resources, China ranks first. They have plenty of these rare earths in a more accessible form. Cooperate with Russia and you will receive immense benefits. You will benefit from it even more than Russia. So why are you trying to enter Ukraine through the window when the door to Russia is open! Go and cooperate!” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

He recalled that Russian President Vladimir said recently that Russia is interested in this cooperation.

“Moreover the minerals deposits are mainly on the territories that were once Ukrainian and are now part of Russia. A large amount of these minerals are already in Russia's hands. So, the United States and Russia just need to negotiate and cooperate,” the Belarusian leader said.
