MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Chinese parliamentarians are ready to actively promote cooperation with Belarus, Zhang Qingwei, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Chairman of the High-Level Committee on Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of Belarus and China, said as he met with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, BelTA has learned.
A meeting of the High-Level Committee on Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of Belarus and China is taking place at the Council of the Republic on 13 June. The Chinese delegation is headed by Zhang Qingwei. Before the meeting of the committee, Natalya Kochanova and Zhang Qingwei met in a narrow format.
“It is a great pleasure to come to beautiful Minsk and take part in the second meeting of the High-Level Committee on Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of Belarus and China in this beautiful grand hall. On behalf of the Chinese side, let me thank the National Assembly of Belarus for the meticulous preparation and organization of this meeting. Let me also convey my best wishes to all the friends present here,” Zhang Qingwei said.
He recalled that the first meeting of the committee was held last year, and its results were good: “A year later, we are holding another meeting where in a friendly atmosphere we are discussing our cooperation in the interests of our development.”
Zhang Qingwei recalled the recent meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Beijing. Xi Jinping noted that China and Belarus are true friends and good partners, whose relations rely on mutual political trust and multifaceted cooperation.
