Zas to attend CSTO exercises near Tajik-Afghan border

MOSCOW, 21 October (BelTA) - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas will make a working trip to Tajikistan on 22-24 October, CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.

"On 23 October, the secretary general will arrive at the Harb-Maidon training ground located 20km away from the Tajik-Afghan border. It will host the final stage of the joint exercise of the CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces Interaction 2021, the exercise of intelligence forces and means Search 2021, and the exercise of the forces and means of logistical support of troops (collective forces) of the CSTO Echelon 2021,” the spokesman said.

Stanislav Zas will observe the actions of troops and special forces that will drill a joint operation to localize a border armed conflict associated with attempts by militants of international terrorist organizations to penetrate into the territory of a CSTO member state.
