Volfovich: What Poland demonstrates on border is not strength but impotence

MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) – What Poland demonstrates on the border is not strength but impotence, State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich told reporters, BelTA has learned.

"What they are showing is not strength but impotence, in my opinion. Deploying tanks, self-propelled artillery installations, combat helicopters against unarmed people... Is it strength?” Aleksandr Volfovich asked. “They sprayed water cannons and tear gas into the territory of a neighboring state. Thus, they have violated the international obligations, they preach so strongly about, and targeted the territory of a foreign state. We did not use water cannons and tear gas in response. What if they use self-propelled artillery against migrants? This will start a war in the center of Europe.”

The state secretary stressed that Belarus fully experienced the horrors of the Great Patriotic War. "To this day, we unearth the remains of our dead people. We shudder in horror, remembering what the Nazis and their accomplices did. Therefore, we have no right to allow this to happen. Belarus has no right to make a political mistake, let alone a military one," he said.
