MOSCOW, 7 November (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich is in Moscow to take part in an annual meeting of secretaries of the security councils of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), BelTA has learned.
Before the meeting Aleksandr Volfovich and his colleagues from the CIS states laid flowers at the Eternal Flame outside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The meeting of the secretaries of the security councils began with a presentation of greetings from President of Russia Vladimir Putin. After that Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Sergei Shoigu, who was chairing the meeting, presented a report on the situation in the field of international security, regional security, and national security. He presented information about the work that had been done to counteract challenges and threats in the CIS space.
The meeting’s agenda includes joint measures of the CIS member states to preserve the historic memory about the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and fight against neo-Nazism manifestations in the post-Soviet space, and measures to preserve traditional spiritual and moral values in the CIS space.
Problems concerning information security and interaction with Afghanistan will be discussed separately.
