Volfovich discusses new threats to CSTO at Yerevan meetings

MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich held bilateral talks with his counterparts from Armenia and Kazakhstan in Yerevan on 16 June, BelTA learned from the State Secretariat.

The Belarusian delegation arrived in the capital of Armenia to participate in a regular meeting of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils. In addition to multilateral cooperation, the heads of the delegations discussed bilateral contacts.

Aleksandr Volfovich met with Aide to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov to share assessments of new challenges and threats to the CSTO area of responsibility. The parties discussed the results of joint work undertaken following last year's visit of Aleksandr Volfovich to Kazakhstan and reviewed progress to implement the cooperation plan between the security councils in 2022-2023.

Aleksandr Volfovich also met with Secretary of Armenia's Security Council Armen Grigoryan. The parties decided to make the most of the potential of Belarus-Armenia interstate security cooperation. Aleksandr Volfovich thanked his Armenian counterpart for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Belarusian delegation.
