MINSK, 2 December (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich has begun a working visit to Hanoi, Vietnam. This was announced on the air of the First News TV Channel, BelTA has learned.

“By order of the head of state, Aleksandr Volfovich will address economic issues in Vietnam. The interest of Belarusian business in this country is enormous, as is Vietnam’s interest in Belarus. Last year, trade [between the two countries] amounted to $245 million – not the highest figure, but contacts exist and there is a desire to strengthen them,” the channel noted.

Belarus and Vietnam carry out bilateral supplies. Belarusian exports include dairy products, beef, trucks, and more. Imports consist of seafood, natural rubber, footwear, and coffee.

Vietnam has a well-developed agricultural sector, which makes Belarusian machinery particularly important. BELARUS tractors are well known here.

In addition, cooperation in the military-industrial sphere is also developing.

Earlier, on 30 November, a working meeting between Aleksandr Volfovich and Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council of Türkiye Mustafa Samanci took place in Istanbul. In a traditionally friendly manner, the parties discussed relevant bilateral issues, as well as the military-political situation in the region and in the world. Particular attention was paid to developing cooperation between the secretariats of the security councils of Belarus and Türkiye. The negotiations resulted in agreements on further contacts.
