MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Uzbekistan that has an observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) supports the further elimination of barriers and restrictions in the EAEU, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting on 10 December, BelTA has learned.
A year has passed since Uzbekistan was granted the observer status at the EAEU. According to him, during this period a solid foundation has been laid for comprehensive cooperation with the EAEU countries, for systematic and effective work with the Eurasian Economic Commission. In January-November 2021, Uzbekistan's trade with the EAEU member states increased by 30% year-on-year, and by 11% compared with the same period of the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
“Uzbekistan stands for coordination of efforts to maintain momentum in sustainable development of trade and economic relations with the member states of our organization,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The president of Uzbekistan deems it necessary to keep removing barriers and restrictions in mutual trade. He declared his readiness to join the work to create the most favorable conditions for increasing trade with the EAEU countries.
