Uzbekistan ambassador sees great prospects for cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Uzbekistan have great prospects for cooperation, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nasirdjan Yusupov said as he met with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 4 February, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat thanked the Belarusian head of state for the high assessment of his activities. “Three years passed very quickly. We managed to achieve some progress, create the groundwork for the future,” said the ambassador.

He especially emphasized the importance of the friendly relations of the two heads of state in the development of bilateral cooperation.

Nasirjan Yusupov stressed that Aleksandr Lukashenko had described the situation in Uzbekistan as positive and praised the role of the Uzbek leader in solving the difficult problems at the current stage of the country's development. “When I was invited to the position of Ambassador to Belarus, I was excited on the one hand. On the other hand, I considered it a great trust and honor to represent my state in such a wonderful country as Belarus,” the diplomat said.

He added that prior to his appointment as ambassador he had only been to Belarus in transit. The diplomat said that now, after spending almost three years in Belarus, he was leaving the country with the kindest and warmest feelings towards it.
