Union State MPs develop approach to adopt model laws

MOSCOW, 20 January (BelTA) - The commission on legislation and regulation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia summed up the results of the parliamentary hearings "Model lawmaking in the Union State" held on 19-20 January, BelTA learned from the PA press service.

“The MPs stated that the parliamentary hearings determined the approach to the development and adoption of model legislation by the Parliamentary Assembly and examined the priority areas that require model regulation. Among them are digitalization, ensuring equal rights of citizens and business entities of Belarus and Russia, protection of historical memory, protection of national security and protection of sovereignty,” the press service said.

The recommendations developed at the parliamentary hearings will be finalized in accordance with the proposals received from the participants.

Apart from Union State MPs, the online meeting of the commission was attended by representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, ministries and agencies of Belarus and Russia.
