MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – National interests are at the heart of the policy pursued by the Belarusian authorities, a member of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada Evgeny Shevchenko told the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Ukraine will stop being an arena for a geopolitical war between the collective West and Russia only when it truly becomes independent from both Russia and the collective West. This is all important for me. Why is Aleksandr Lukashenko an example for me? Because his policy prioritizes national interests,” Evgeny Shevchenko said.
He emphasized that any government should make decisions based on the interests of its state and people. “That is not what I see in Ukraine,” the MP added.
