Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky
MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - U.S. President Donald Trump engaged in an extended telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky after his Alaska summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and is currently consulting NATO allies, TASS reports citing the White House statement.
“President Trump held a lengthy discussion with Zelensky during his return flight [from Anchorage] to Washington,” stated the press pool report citing Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters. The report added: “President Trump is now speaking by phone with NATO leaders.”
The briefing note specified that Trump remained aboard Air Force One upon arrival at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington as he continued these diplomatic consultations.
