MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – A meeting of the trilateral contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east is in progress in Minsk, representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Meetings of the subgroups of the trilateral contact group took place before that.
After the previous meeting on 4 September the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik noted that the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine's east was staying at its lowest since the beginning of the conflict. The ceasefire established on 21 July had contributed to it, he noted. The diplomat urged all the sides to strictly honor the commitments they had undertaken particularly in view of the beginning of the new academic year.
