MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – The Russian tactical nuclear weapons, which are deployed in Belarus, reliably cover western borders of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov made the statement after negotiations with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik on 24 June, BelTA has learned.

During the negotiations the parties paid close attention to the formation of the common defensive space.

“The accomplishment of this task is facilitated by the joint regional military force, which is deployed in the territory of the republic, as well as by modern Russian defense systems and tactical nuclear weapons, which reliably cover our common western borders in accordance with decisions made by the presidents of the two countries,” Sergey Lavrov stressed.
