Shehbaz Sharif pledges to strengthen Pakistan-Belarus friendship

 

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – At a narrow-format meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured that he would do everything to strengthen Pakistan-Belarus friendship, BelTA has learned.

The prime minister thanked the Belarusian head of state for the warm welcome. He highlighted the importance of the informal meeting that was held on the eve of the official talks and included his family members. He also praised the Belarusian cuisine.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized: “My first visit to Belarus took place many years ago, when your country was part of the Soviet Union. Back then I came to your country with my father. And even then, your country seemed to have a highly developed manufacturing sector.”

The prime minister added: “Yesterday, when I landed and rode through Minsk, I saw beautiful buildings. Belarus has become a beautiful country, including under your wise leadership.”
