MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) — Serbia is proud of close ties with Belarus, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on the air of the Belarusian ONT TV channel on 22 December, BelTA has learned.
"Serbia and Belarus have historical ties and hold the same views on what is going on in the world. We are proud to have such a friend as Belarus. In Serbia, we say that we choose our friends, not our friends choose us. Belarus and Serbia are compatible countries in the economic sense. We can learn a lot from you, for example, cooperation in the military-industrial complex, agriculture. Famous Belarus-made buses were assembled in Kragujevac. We trust the excellent quality of Belarusian tractors," Aleksandar Vulin said.
He remarked that the West has discarded the fundamentals it used to rely on. "We were taught all the time that the essence of the West is multiparty democracy and market economy, capitalism. None of those things is possible anymore. There is no democracy. Some parties cannot come to power no matter how many Germans, French or Austrians vote for them. Belarusian, Russian, Chinese or Indian businessmen can have all the money in the world, but cannot buy a company in Europe. It is forbidden. Suddenly, the money has acquired color," the deputy prime minister noted.
