MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – Uzbekistan should draw conclusions from the situation, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic Sergei Rachkov told the ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.
“Of course, we cannot but be concerned about the situation in Uzbekistan. We have friendly relations. There are very good relations between the presidents, we are actively cooperating economically,” Sergei Rachkov said.
The senator recalled that the president of Belarus warned about the aggravation of the situation in Central Asia. “I think that Uzbekistan should take this factor into account; the writing is already on the wall. Uzbekistan is maneuvering between East and West, it is a member of the SCO, the CIS, but not the CSTO and not the EAEU. Yet, the choice will have to be made. This is my opinion,” he added.
