MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) - Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh commented on the statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“We received the statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with great regret. It is sad to see how the most important supreme legislative body of our brotherly country is gradually turning into a frivolous political institution, which seeks to act in the interests of foreign centers of influence,” said Andrei Savinykh.

According to him, the gap between the interests of Ukrainian citizens and the slowly degrading political structures of Ukraine is constantly widening. “Against this background we can express our gratitude to those Ukrainian MPs who voted against this statement or even abstained from voting. Given the nature of the political atmosphere in Kiev, this can already be seen as a manifestation of civic position,” the MP said.
