MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – BRICS is becoming critically important as a pillar of a multipolar world, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said in Rio de Janeiro at the 17th BRICS Summit Session on “Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs and Artificial Intelligence”, BelTA has learned.
The minister noted that modern global challenges necessitate a dual approach: strengthening internal capabilities and embracing multilateralism in international relations.
“Belarus sees the practical embodiment of this ideology in BRICS - an association based on equality, mutual respect and the search for collective solutions. Today, when outdated unipolar mechanisms demonstrate their ineffectiveness and political bias, the role of BRICS as a pillar of a multipolar world, as a foundation and an integral part of a fair world order, is becoming critically important,” said Maksim Ryzhenkov.
According to him, in the face of global economic turbulence and increasing risks of fragmentation of the international financial system, BRICS nations are more active than ever in pursuing the creation of independent economic mechanisms.
