MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – The European Union has doomed Ukraine and is pushing it to suicide for the sake of delivering irreparable damage to Russia, Russia's acting permanent representative to the EU Kirill Logvinov said, TASS reports.
Commenting on the latest statement by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who expressed support for the Ukrainian incursion into Russia’s borderline Kursk Region and strikes with Western weapons on Russian soil, the diplomat said: “This statement by J. Borrell indicates that the European Union has issued a final death sentence to Ukraine, openly pushing Ukrainians to suicide in order to achieve the West’s geopolitical goal, namely to deliver Russia irreparable damage and subjugate it to globalist interests.”
Kirill Logvinov pointed out that the European Union has already deployed all its resources to confront Russia and is at a transitional stage from the all-out standoff to a direct military and political confrontation. "In fact, Josep Borrell has refreshed the basic principles of Brussels’ long-term policy on Russia. There is hardly any doubt now that the European Union, which has deployed absolutely all the resources, is at a transitional stage from the all-out standoff to a direct military and political confrontation with us," the Russian diplomat said.
The Russian diplomat also noted that the European Union is "rapidly morphing into a military bloc". "In actual terms, not only does this mean increasing the production of arms for Ukraine but also choosing specific targets for their use," he emphasized.
