MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) - Russia will continue to provide assistance to Belarus in the face of ongoing external pressures, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
"We will continue to provide comprehensive assistance to the brotherly Belarusian people in the current uneasy domestic political situation in Belarus amid the continuous political pressure and sanctions, persistent attempts from the outside to destabilize the situation," Vladimir Putin said.
The president stressed that Russia has helped Belarus to resist the sanctions imposed by the European Union and will continue doing so. "We believe that the ban on the supply of a number of goods from Belarus to EU countries is detrimental to the interests of business and ordinary citizens. This is what those who make such decisions should think of," the head of state said.
