MOSCOW, 16 May (BelTA) – The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is playing a stabilizing role in the post-Soviet space, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the CSTO summit in Moscow on 16 May, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Putin recalled that the member states marked the 30th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the organization in 2022. According to him, those years were as difficult for the future members of the CSTO as today.
“I hope that the organization, which has become a full-fledged international structure, will develop further. The organization plays a very important role in the post-Soviet space. A stabilizing one. I hope its capabilities and influence on the situation in our area of responsibility will only increase,” Vladimir Putin said.
