Putin: Belarus has retained competencies that Russia needs

MOSCOW, 26 May (BelTA) – Belarus has retained manufacturing, scientific and technological competencies necessary for Russia, including in microelectronics, Russian President Vladimir Putin said as he addressed the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek by video link, BelTA has learned.

“We will definitely use all the opportunities to expand cooperation with the Republic of Belarus in a number of areas. Belarus has retained the competencies that are very important for us, including in microelectronics,” Vladimir Putin said.

According to him, this matter was discussed at his recent meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. “We even agreed to earmark funds to finance projects in Belarus that will produce goods that will be in demand in Russia itself,” the president of Russia noted.

“This is a very interesting and promising avenue of cooperation,” Vladimir Putin emphasized.
