MOSCOW, 10 September (BelTA) — Meetings of the Supreme State Council and the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will become the main events for the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State, which will be celebrated in December this year, BelTA learned from State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev.
"The 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State is a great holiday and a very significant event in scale. Both the meeting of the Council of Ministers and the meeting of the Supreme State Council, at which the results of the work of partner ministries and agencies on the integration agenda will be presented to the heads of state and government, are probably the most important events," Dmitry Mezentsev remarked.
He said that before these events two meetings of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State will be held, where practical issues are always resolved. One of them will be held in Minsk in late September.
Moreover, on 8 December, on the day of signing the union agreement, the maestro Valery Gergiev and one of his teams are scheduled to arrive in Minsk. According to Dmitry Mezentsev, a tour of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in Moscow is scheduled before that.
