MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Syria are tied by true friendship and long-standing partnership, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh in Minsk on 30 October, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus and Syria are tied by true friendship and long-standing partnership. I warmly recall my visit to Syria as part of the Belarusian government delegation, which took place almost two years ago,” Roman Golovchenko said.
According to the prime minister, the visit, which took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, made it possible to elaborate a number of decisions aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.
“We are confidently moving along this path, despite the illegal pressure exerted on our countries. I am confident that your visit to our country is another important step towards strengthening the comprehensive partnership and friendship between our countries,” Roman Golovchenko said.
