MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – The Belaya Rus political party should grow into a separate political force, First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Vladimir Pertsov said at the political party’s third congress in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“Although this political party was born out of the Belaya Rus public association, it should establish itself as a separate political force. This is its number one task. It should engage in political activities. We have heard the ideas and plans voiced by the newly elected chair of the party. So good luck with it,” said Vladimir Pertsov.

He believes that there should be more responsibility and less formalism in the party's activities. Greater emphasis should be placed on involving and recruiting active citizens, including employees of commercial enterprises of various forms of ownership, who are not yet members of public associations and political parties. “There are many of them. Let's visit enterprises and organizations that do not have a grassroots trade union organization or offices of public associations and political parties. Directive No. 12 establishes a framework for this work and associated legal aspects. As you remember, ideological work should be done at business entities of all forms of ownership,” the first deputy head of the Belarus President Administration remarked.
“Your work should be aligned with the interests of the majority of people living in our country, not only members of political parties or public associations. Try to engage those who are not yet members of your party. Perhaps, the work that you do will help you win hearts and minds of those people who are the main target audience for our opponents. The uninvolved, the unengaged, sitting on the fence. Whenever we fail, this ideological vacuum will be quickly filled by our opponents who will try to reach out to people using alternative means of communication, as they do not have the opportunity to communicate with them face to face. We cannot allow this to happen. We understand perfectly well that our opponents have learned their lessons from 2020. We are bracing up for tougher times, as we know that they will act more aggressively using soft power and mass media, social media and messengers. Thus, you should also leverage these instruments in your outreach activities,” Vladimir Pertsov said.

The political party should get involved in addressing problems of ordinary people. Write unfiltered, raw stories, raise sensitive issues in mass media and, together with government bodies, try to solve the pressing problems of people living in the capital city and in every region of our country,” added Vladimir Pertsov.
On 28 June Olga Chemodanova was elected Chairperson of the Belaya Rus political party at the meeting of the Supreme Political Council of the party that was attended by delegates to the 3rd congress of the party.
