Pakistan's delegation to visit Belarus in 2022

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – A delegation of Pakistan plans to visit Belarus in 2022, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Olga Petrashova told the media on 8 February, BelTA has learned.

“The plan of international parliamentary cooperation for 2022 was considered and approved at the meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives on 8 February. Inter-parliamentary cooperation is carried out in several directions. One of them is work in international parliamentary organizations. Today the Belarusian parliament is a full member of seven international parliamentary organizations and has an observer status in three of them,” said Olga Petrashova.

The MP stressed that bilateral cooperation with parliaments of other countries is vibrant. “This year there are plans for visits of parliamentary delegations of our country and delegations at the level of working groups of the National Assembly of Belarus on cooperation with parliaments of such countries as Egypt, Iran, the Republic of Korea and Tajikistan. The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is going to pay an official visit to Belarus in 2022. This year Belarus will host the 13th session of the inter-parliamentary commission for cooperation between the National Assembly of Belarus and the National Assembly of Armenia,” she said.

Belarus will continue cooperation at the level of working groups with foreign MPs. “For example, in February the heads and members of the working groups of the parliaments of Belarus will hold meetings with the parliaments of Brazil and Vietnam. Among the top priority activities is building relations with the main strategic partners of Belarus - the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China,” Olga Petrashova said.
