MOSCOW, 31 October (BelTA) – The Eurasian integration should not be confined solely to the post-Soviet space. Iran and Mongolia can also become candidates to join this integration process, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor of MGIMO at the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Kuznetsov told a press conference on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
“The task of all the Eurasian Economic Union member states is to try to develop a large Eurasian space. It might not necessarily embrace everyone and everything at once. However, anyway, we should not view the Eurasian space as a territory solely within the borders of the post-Soviet space. We must clearly understand that, for example, Mongolia or Iran are active candidates for Eurasian integration with the core in the EAEU,” Alexey Kuznetsov said.
